The Story behind the name "EL-STEF-CO"
Elstefco was our father's dream to create a lasting legacy. Founded in 1988 in the northernmost part of South Africa, on the way to a small town called Venda where we resided, Elstefco was the embodiment of his vision.
Today, Elstefco has grown into a multinational corporation operating across Africa and the Middle East. From the young age of 8,
our parents encouraged Stefan to sell live chickens. At the end of each month, our father and Stefan would rise at 05:00 to drive to a farm and purchase live chickens.
Starting with just 10, they quickly expanded to selling 200 chickens a day within a few years.
Business was always challenging, but our parents excelled in perseverance. No matter the difficulties, they prioritized their faith, remained resilient, and faced each day with optimism.
Our mother, the cornerstone of our family, has her own compelling business.
Unyielding, she ran a successful tour operation for many years, which brought her and my father to the world's most exquisite locations. We are a close-knit family, always supporting one another. Each of us contributes something unique, and it is this collaboration that fortifies us.
The adage "If you want to go far, go together" truly reflects our ethos.
After a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease, our father passed away. Throughout his ordeal, he never once admitted to having a bad day; he was the epitome of positivity.
Our mother was his steadfast supporter, caring for him daily. To our parents, we owe immense gratitude for the invaluable life lessons imparted to us from an early age.The name El-Stef-Co represents the union of Elmari, Stefan, and Cobus. As three siblings, we endeavor to emulate their example for our own families and children, aiming to uphold the same legacy. With this legacy Elstefco can only be propelled to new heights.
